ABOUT | Rewind by Rodney Wallace World Class CBD

2017 was an important year for me. I had just signed with New York City Football Club after playing abroad in Brazil Serie A. I had my sights set on the 2018 FIFA World Cup and after missing the 2014 World Cup due to an ACL tear, I was not going to let it pass me by. Headed by Patrick Viera, I began the season strong. Unfortunately halfway through 2017, I began to notice hip discomfort.  I was using Cortisone, Celebrex, Diclofenac, Toradol, steroid packs, and PRP shots to help relieve my pain. After the last experimental shot I ever received, my wife did not know whether I would be able to walk again much less step foot on a pitch. The pain took away the fun and I wasn’t able to be as present and engaged with my daughter as I had liked. My quality of life was suffering and my wife was desperate to find something that could help me.

Talks of CBD becoming legal had started around the US and after some research, Haley found a bottle in lower Manhattan. Once I found a therapeutic dose and was consistent with it, our lives changed. I was experiencing less pain, my mood was improving, and I was able to play with my daughter again. Although legal and marketed as less than 0.3% THC, the stigma surrounding CBD was strong and I worried about failing a drug test. After all, there was no way for me to truly know what was in the bottle. Getting into the CBD business felt like the most natural thing for me to do because while CBD drastically changed my family and I’s life, we were unable to find a product that I could confidently use as a professional athlete. ‘Rewind’ was born out of a need for natural pain relief that was compliant and transparent. When I envisioned life after football I always knew it would be helping others, I just never knew it would be through CBD
